PUPPET SHOW

The puppets play on stage,
Sweet music right behind…
They dance for the audience
Enticing everyone.

The smiles and the applause,
Oh, what a great time…!
The hats are flying high,
Confetti all around!

But audience doesn’t see
What’s there behind it all…
Pathetic, pompous blitz,
Designed to fool the most.

The puppeteers laugh,
As their show goes on;
They know so well the craft
Of getting what they want.

They pass on the candy
And few little crumbs…
“Oh, they're so generous!!
Let’s give more applause!!”

“Let’s give them all we’ve got!
And then again some more!!
They love us! After all,
We’re the ones this show’s for!!”

“We can sit back, relax…
‘Free will’ sounds all too strange…
Let’s just do what they tell us
And contribute more change.”

The puppeteers reign
Just like they did before;
The audience falls again,
For puppets’ charm and lure.

The audience sits in haze,
As puppeteer’s hand
Takes golden horn of plenty,
That gave life to their land.
